Best Weekend!

Loved this weekend!

Friday, we met some friends for dinner and a movie. We saw the proposal, and laughed so much! highly recommend that movie: sandra is cute and ryan is hot hot hot!

sat: we had a busy day! DH had children's hospital rounds, I packed us a picnic lunch, we went to a scrapping swap (cute recipe cards!), we got our hair cut, we picked up my car from the shop, home for a nap, out to minigolf with R and M...fun stuff! ooh, my friend S (ILYL) came home from Spain and it was soooo nice getting a phone call from her!

sun: woke up early (for me! 730 on a sunday? crazy!) scrapped and studied a bit, planned the menu, grocery shopping, and chilling at home.

menu: this week we're having-- mom's classic hotdish (not our mom's, just a mom's hehe), chicken and biscuits, tacos, pork chops (with stuffing, and a bbq sauce, brown sugar, and cranberry glaze). Hopefully we'll get to grill out this Holiday weekend and maybe hit the zoo or another mini golfing place :)

how was YOUR weekend? what did YOU do?

cool new lean lunch option!

So, you all know I heart giant eagle!. well, they have just added another thing i think i will love..... lean frozen lunches.

I survive, sadly, on lean cuisine, healthy choice, smartones and the like for lunches. they are quick, have variety, and i guess it's better than snacking. (although the mean in the lean cuisine ones.....especially the chicken, just fyi)

so, when shopping last weekend with DH (the first time in toooooo long of time!) we found giant eagle brand! (their brand in other things is decent so...) we gave em a try. So far: the penne with sausage is way delicious and the chicken fettucini alfredo, umm alright. the chicken still weirds me out.

i like the flavors and the portion sizes. so often i'm still so hungry after eating a previously mentioned brand lunch that I end up needing to munch later. well, i can say, 2 days in a row eating the GE brand and I'm doing just fine with appetite!

if you have GE by you, you should give them a try.

on another note, DH and I are back to doing our weekly menu. we have been in a "shopeverydayfordinner" mode and getting back in this plan will help us a) eat better b) not be frustrated in deciding every day what to have and c) save us some money.

my MS update

Last week I had my yearly follow up with my neurologist! It went well, better than I thought it would/could after last years Optic Neuritis episode. (didn't link to a specific post, just the lovely month)

It was the usual: walk as fast, and safely, as you can, do an eye chart, walk back. tip toes, heels, hop on one foot, then the other. eyes, make some faces, palms out, be stong, reflexes. tuning fork. (this is where I get bored and wonder really how long I'm supposed to say I feel the fork on my feet.....I asked the doc "do some people not feel it for this long" he responded "some people don't even feel it.") So, I guess my 30-odd-seconds of tuning fork on foot is alright!

we talked about my wanting to do the 1/2 marathon last year; but then i had the flair up and quit that. he said he's had a couple patients to the 1/2 and the full, and he thinks I should give it another try. (MK?? married to MK, want to help?)

I was thinking i'd be getting an MRI, but I'm good for another year! Because my last MRI wasn't showing anything active, he doesn't quite know why I had the flair up. But, I get another year to "try" and stay flair up free.

ooh, and commit to doing my shots daily. (i'm 7/7 since the doc!)

Cannot. wait. to love on and spoil. this kid!

tales from the jail...today.

me: how many kids do you have?
inmate: a whole bunch of them.
me: where do you live?
inmate: everywhere.
me: who can i call to verify your information?
inmate: jesus.

and then he says "please try and get me out of here right away."

nope, can't do it. you gave no concrete information and i'm sorry, jesus doesn't accept phone calls.

it's a good thing i do my interviews in the jail chapel, sounds like jesus is expecting his "call."

mis.er.able

our AC is out. again. number 2 in 2 weeks. i'm miserable!

see, i like our temp set at 68. it's cozy. yup, i like it a little lot cool. thus, when our ac protests and freezes up, i hate it.

last year, it went out a lot too.

when will we get a new AC?

well, the home warranty place evils needs to decide on that quick if I have any say in it. or, we need 3K to get it done. bleh.

i mean, i like sleepovers in the basement, but air mattresses are only comfy for so long.

so, puhlease, homewarranty people, please read this and comply. or you go to jail. i can do that you know!

i've heard it all!

So, I have always thought some OSU fans are a little, shall we say, obsessed? ridiculous? but none-the-less, it's not like I hate them or get mad, I just think it's funny.

You see, I work with crazed fan C. I have heard every excuse in the book for why the buckeyes lose, when that happens. The sun was shining too bright, the refs missed calls, or have favorites, or made bad calls, or whatever, the coach was mad about something, the other teams players were..., the time change wasn't fair and the game started too early, the weather wasn't ideal, and my all time fave....the grass on the field wasn't cut to the right length. Yes, my friends, he thinks the buckeyes lost because the person who mowed the lawn didn't do it to the correct length that the buckeyes are used to playing on. so there you go.

I can't wait for next football season to see what C has up his sleeve then for the reasons the buckeyes lost.....

i just have never experienced such love, such passion for a sports team. honestly, i dont' think other fans are this over-the-top when it comes to their fanatics.

6:30 am

what were you doing at 6:30 am EST?

DH was suppostabe at work, prepping for the day.
I was suppostabe on my way to work.

instead.

we were both sleeping.

why?

Well, it goes a little something like this:

DH usually is typeAnal about setting his alarm, checking it a few times before bed. Not so sure that happened Wed night.

I set my alarm for 6:30 Tuesday night because I work 8-5 on Wed. But, I didn't reset my alarm Wed night for Thursday 7-4 work. [admittedly, I remember thinking about it, but then thinking, "I'll just get up when DH leaves" like the plan is suppostabe every other day.]

When my annoying alarm sounded at 6:30 this am, i looked at DH and I think I said "babe, you're late!" then we both panicked....he got ready quick, I got ready quick too.

And I don't know about him, but I've been feeling a step or two behind all day!
