This is my first post about something that annoys me several times a week. Please don't take offense if this touches you personally :)
I hate when the closed captions are wrong. (PS I watch TVs with captioning at the gym in the mornings)
Mispellings, cut offs, and made up words frustrate me! It's like the typers aren't even from here to know the names of the streets and cities to put them in correctly. And, they cut off at the wrong times.
Like today for example, "next we'll go to Mindy with" ... that's it, what the heck is Mindy going to talk about? Is it something I want to keep running and tuning in for? Is it something I would like to gather at the water cooler and discuss? Will it impact my commute or my job? Come on!?!
I can probably be honest in saying that the captioning quality gets me going at least 15 times in the mornings.....must not get to me too badly as I can't remember the specific things mispelled or made up. But, no fear: if they come to me, I will gladly share. Maybe it'll get you fired up too, eh?
I think I would like to be a closed-caption entry person. Anyone know how to do that? I am a super-speedy typer; that'll be a plus, right?

Tuesday's Tip
All about a favorite (but rarely consumed) food of ours: PIZZA!
a great family operated pizza and pasta place, you can just taste that it is homemade! Morones
my favorite white pizza comes from Belleria. DH doesn't so much like their pizza as it has too much of a "green pepper taste." whatever, I like the kick it gives!
for good, crispy crust, try Iaconos. A little spendy, as we from MN call it, but very yummy! Sunday buffet anyone??
There you have it, our new fave pizza places. You can tell we definately prefer the little guys to the big chains (no Donotos, or Papa Johns, or Dominos for these peeps!)

best weekend ever
okay, maybe not ever, but it was a great weekend!
Friday: we went and played cards with the T's, E and B. They grilled bison burgers (yum) and we brought salad (with walnuts and craisins and raspberry - pomegranate dressing) and played euchre! It was a fun evening with some good friends!
Saturday: I went running with a girl from church at beautiful Sharon Woods park. I like running outside better than on the treadmill, but with the hot hot hot weather, that will come in the fall.
Then, it was DH's surprise day for me! We went to Polaris to get his hair cut, and I browsed at my fave Paper and Thread. Then onto downtown for the North Market! Seriously, i heart it! Farmer's market outside, and permanent vendors inside. We got some veggies, blueberries, cottage fries, corn on the cob, foccacia all for dinner and we had pasta and yummy sauces (spinach prosciutto for me and alfredo tomato for DH). We listened to thecrazy confident tuba playing, irish-canada-other country anthem singing man while eating lunch.
Once home, I took a nap, DH played on the computer, andwe DH eventually started grilling (and roasting) dinner. Then onto Stauf's for some yummy coffee and iced tea and great surroundings.
Sunday: We slept in because we were up until 2amish doing a bunch of nothing, well, scrapping and playing on the computer, again. We went grocery shopping, I napped, we played guitar hero, had dinner, then to Stauf's again. Soon enough we'll be regulars! We also had Jeni's ice cream: seriously delicious. Loving the wildberry lavender and DH likes the Maker's Mark.
Hope you had a fun-filled, good food weekend with your important peeps too!

Accountability High-Low Sandwich
HI: I am up to about 3 miles solid running.
LO: My heat insensitivity sucks. I get to the point where I feel like I'll faint! I want this to go away, but most likely it will be something I deal with throughout my running...
HI: I'm going running tomorrow AM with some great girls from our group at church! It'll be my first time running outside in awhile but I'm excited!
Props go to M again for putting up with me and my struggles in running, again this week....I'll get there right?? hehe.

Tuesday's Tip
First Watch
the daytime cafe
I love love love eating here, sadly, DH hasn't even been once! It is so quick, fresh, and ooooh so delicious!
My fave: the western omelet, with sausage. It comes with their special "first watch potatoes" that I would just die (okay, not really, but you get what I mean) to know the recipe for. Also an english muffin, that come on, that's not hard to do, but I don't know, theirs are very good too! Top it off with a bit of jam and you're good to go!
OOH, don't forget: grab a couple red-white striped mints on your way out!
Sign up for the Sun-E club and you get a free meal! woah! score! I thought about creating a bagillion email accounts so I could always get a free meal, but this place is definitely worth the low price meals and choices offered!
Now, to just get DH to go....hehe.

To put more of a "format" into my blog, here's what I'm planning:
Tuesday's Tip (all the good things we've come to love in o.h.i.o.)
Wordless Wednesday (probably a scrapping layout, I've got plenty to share!)
Thankful Thursday (since I could use a few reminders to be positive during my day! ha!)
Okay, better get started!

5 in a row baby
I've been to the gym 5 days in a row! W, F, Sat Running and R body flow, and today body pump. M says I need a day for rest now. (secretly I'm very happy for that!) Monday is resting for me! cool.
I spent yesterday with D hitting up some scrapbooking sales and creating some greeting cards for the swap, and then to Mamma Mia movie (liked it but it was weird...very random). I had a great day with D and am so glad I have her as a friend here!

Accountability Hi-Lo-Hi
Alternate title: High-Low Sandwich of accountability...
Figure I can join in this too in the blogging world: Accountability in my life changing decision.
HI: I'm going to run the 1/2 marathon in october. Don't quite know how but I will complete it.
LO: I just soooo don't want to fail at the training, have my MS get in the way (like usual), and get pissed at life again.
HI: getting to the gym so far 3x this week has been great!
And, the week isn't over yet.
I still have Saturday classes to get to! ha!
I just wish I wouldn't get so hot (as in temperature) when running, that I feel light headed.
Need to have a snack first, right?
I'm the type of girl that puts her mind to something and will get it done. So that's my plan for the next 14 weeks.
Hold me to it. hehe.

Thankful Thursday
What I'm thankful for today:
1. The surprise in the Barnes and Noble box that arrived some time yesterday, but I found today outside, and David said it's for me!!! I can't wait to open it when I get home! heeh.
2. The very nice lady at the Starbucks (ehh) drivethrough. She even gave me a coupon for a free drink! Last week I got 4 free Ipod downloads! score. (but on another note, I'm missing Dunns, Whiterock..you know, coffee roaster places in St. Paul).
3. We ordered chinese last night, it was nice because I really didn't feel like cooking.
4. Body Flow at the gym tonight (its like pilates, yoga, and tai chi all mixed and I loooooove it!)
5. Today will be the first busy day of the week. finally!
what are you thankful for today?

thoughts
I really want to work out before work. I never seem to get to the gym afterwards and I think by getting up and doing it would be best. The thing is, I go to bed way too late.
So, I was talking with, well, how do I put this, my psychologist? I deal with depression, anxiety, obsessive compulsive personality disorder, and rather than just medicate, i want to do something about it. This person is great: puts things out there in a blunt way, just to make me think.
Our conversation last week went like this:
Me: I just can't get out of bed in the morning to go!
Psy: What are you doing so late at night that you're staying up for?
Me: TV, internet, reading. Junk stuff I guess.
Psy: Are those things you'd be doing at 5am?
Me: Of course not!
Psy: Why don't you go to the gym at 10, 11ish.
Me: No, I couldn't do that, plus, the gym isn't open that late!
Psy: If you're doing a bunch of stuff at 10 that you wouldn't do at 5....which things would you rather do?
Me: The gym, I need to get that back into my schedule.
Psy: Think about it, why waste your time at 10, 11 o'clock with "junk" when you could be asleep around 9 and up for the gym easier.
Me: I guess.
So, that got me thinking. Psy is totally right: why am I WASTING MY TIME on junk stuff when I could get on the same schedule as DH sleep wise, and just wake up when he does and go to the gym and be DONE WITH IT FOR THE DAY!?!?
That was on 7/10.
Do you think I've started?
Considering Sunday night and Monday night I was up until MIDNIGHT! ummm, nope. not yet.
But, at least I'm thinking about it right?? hehe.

not much
This week has been pretty low key so far. Just back to work for DH and me. Work is back to being slow, boring, bleh. I have my review today so hopefully that will go alright! I'm kind of nervous and I. hate. that!
Tonight I'm getting my hair colored, cut, permed...whatever. Just something different! My lady J is a great stylist and I really like that she does it at her house and we get to catch up, eat good food, and laugh at her kids! Beats the salon anyday for me! She has been so wonderful to meet and get to know this past year.
DH was oncall for the first time at home last night, slept downstairs and had to get up oh so early today. Hopefully he'll get to bed early tonight and then not work late tomorrow so we can enjoy our ANNIVERSARY!!!
Sorry this is a boring post, but after celebrating us tomorrow, I'm sure I'll have more interesting news to report on! hehe.
PS, my MIL C reads this and I think that's cool. Now, she just needs to comment, hehe (and pass it along to the family/friends she thinks would want to keep up with the goings-on in our life!) love you C!

air quality alert
yup, we get these ever so often in ohio. that means if your young, old, have breathing problems: stay inside. I have developed allergies since moving to ohio and i feel like my face weighs 1000 pounds! no fun with runny nose, itchy eyes, scratchy throat, and achey feeling (maybe it's a cold!) you can just feel the irritants in the air and i wonder what i have to do to be qualified to stay indoors :) hehe. today, i'm missing the MN fresh air!

doh!
they. are. in. OHIO!
Yup, they've arrived to our new "homeland!" Can't wait til DH picks E and B up and then we begin our FUN weekend! I must admit, I've been pretty anxious, as this is the first time they've stayed with us (besides that freak blizzard back in MN and E couldn't make it home...wait, freak blizzard in MN? I think not.)
We've planned a menu, have some activities planned, but I need to remember: these girls are so cool. I think they'd be fine going going going or just going chill! So, I have to let my obsessing go and just remember to have fun! I can't let my anxiety get the best of me!
besides, it's not everyday I get to spend with my sisters! I know this is "just what the doc" ordered to continue lifting up DH's attitude!
If I don't get on here much....it's because I'm making memories, but don't worry, a big ole update post will come soon!
happy 4th! celebrate America! BBQ! oooh and aahhhh!

a thought:
a friend has this as her signature line on a scrapbooking forum, and I just like it, so I'll share it with you:
"Never be afraid to try something new, remember: professionals built the titanic, amateurs built the ark."
maybe this applies to my whole master's degree decision.
